Operate gas or electric industrial trucks 100% of the time. Collect or deliver material, parts, or products in or between departments or buildings. May operate industrial trucks with special attachments, such as forklifts, small boom, trailer, etc.
Work Settings
Warehouse, distribution center and/or manufacturing shop floor setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. Shift work and overtime is common. Many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day.
Education
OSHA training on shop/lift truck; High school diploma or GED
