Responsible for scheduling the production of standard or semi-repetitive type equipment following a master schedule which has been prepared by others. Would normally input and extract data from a production/inventory control system. Follows material procurement, manufacturing progress and issues production papers to assure shipment of completed equipments in accordance with schedule. May maintain line charts showing status of material. Schedules the flow of material from stockroom and manufacturing departments. Obtain disposition of rejected material. Contacts the follow-up clerks or expedites shortage items. Maintains records on units completed and shipped. May work closely with but does not supervise them.
Work Settings
Office and manufacturing shop floor setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Associate's degree in related field and 1-3 years experience
