Develops plans and procedures used in carrying out company policy with respect to fair and equitable rates of pay. Assists in operation of merit and performance rating programs. Evaluates jobs using established evaluation systems, determines grades and prepares records of the validity of the evaluations; may serve on job evaluation committees. Conducts research on compensation plans and makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness of existing company programs. May research activities on wage matters for labor negotiations, grievances or arbitration cases.
Work Settings
Office setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Bachelor degree, or work experience
