Supervises preparation of paychecks for a company. Maintains/overseas the maintenance of records and files for federal, state withholding taxes, social security, insurance, `retirement, credit union payments, bond purchases. Oversees the preparation of special checks for overtime, bonus pay, vacation pay, termination pay and temporary works pay. Prepares special studies. Makes recommendations for new systems and procedures.
Work Settings
Office setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field and 1-3 years experience or two years college with courses in accounting, business, or equivalent experience and 3-5 years experience
