Performs routine, non-routine and moderately complex design tasks requiring the operation and application of Computer Aided Design equipment such as digitizer, plotter, CRT and associated peripheral equipment. Utilize standard digitizing and C.A.D. design techniques, skills, design rules and specifications to prepare design tapes for pattern generation, determine scales, perform mathematical calculations and prepare layouts, renditions, variations and similar applications.
Work Settings
Office setting using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to complete required tasks. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Training in vocational schools, related on- the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Some positions may require a bachelor's degree.
